The Tired Days

I never truly understood what people meant when they said, “The days are long, but the years are short,” until I became a mother. I remember the sweet baby smell, the tiny toes, the soft little clothes, and quiet afternoons when the biggest worry was a missed nap. Those days felt endless in the moment, yet now they seem to have passed in the blink of an eye.

These days look different. The negotiations never seem to end, emotions run high, and your little one’s personality fills every corner of the room. They’re growing, exploring, and stepping into who God made them to be. And as they do, the weight of motherhood can feel heavier, the worries louder, the days busier, the rest harder to find.

Parenting is holy work but it’s also hard work. You pour and pour, wondering if anything is left for you.

And yet… this is exactly where grace meets you.

Not in your perfection.

Not in your pace.

But in your dependence.

God never asked you to do this alone. He invites you to draw near, to rest in His strength when yours runs out.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

Grace is a divine exchange: your exhaustion for His renewal, your striving for His sufficiency. And sometimes, grace shows up in the smallest, most unexpected moments.

There was a day when my daughter was extra fussy. Every request I made was met with a stubborn “no.” She wouldn’t listen or cooperate, and honestly, I was done. The frustration was rising, and I had two choices: react out of that frustration… or pause.

Right before I opened my mouth, I sensed a quiet whisper inside:

“She had a hard day.”

So I knelt down, pulled her close, and said graciously,

“Sweet bug… you had a hard day, didn’t you?”

She melted into my arms and whispered,

“Mommy… my friend kept saying no to me all day.”

My heart broke. That tiny moment, that small yes to slowing down, listening, and responding with gentleness changed everything. Grace met both of us in that moment.

Scripture says: “He tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms, and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.” - Isaiah 40:11

How beautiful is that? How comforting to know that the same God who carries your children close to His heart also gently leads you.

Sometimes the most powerful moments in motherhood aren’t the big breakthroughs, they’re the small yeses.

Yes to pausing.

Yes to listening.

Yes to the Shepherd’s voice instead of the noise.

Yes to responding with His heart instead of your frustration.

These small yeses aren’t about perfection they’re about presence. They’re about catching the whisper of grace in the middle of a long, messy day.

Love,

Gi 🤍

For some of us, faith wasn’t something that was modeled or handed down, it’s something we’re learning to live and model as we go. Maybe you didn’t grow up praying at the dinner table or opening a Bible together. But now, here you are, choosing a new path for your family…

God Wink Moments

Have you ever had one of those God wink moments? When a simple thought crosses your mind, and moments later, it happens in a way that feels too perfect to be coincidence? Recently I was at a Japanese store with my husband and daughter…
