Seen
For some of us, faith wasn’t something that was modeled or handed down, it’s something we’re learning to live and model as we go. Maybe you didn’t grow up praying at the dinner table or opening a Bible together. But now, here you are, choosing a new path for your family. And even when it feels uncertain, or when your efforts seem to go unseen, God sees you.
He always has.
That truth shines beautifully in the story of Hagar. She knew what it felt like to be unseen, alone, weary, and wandering in the wilderness, carrying a promise she didn’t fully understand. Yet there, God met her. He called her by name and reminded her that He hadn’t missed a moment of her story. Overwhelmed, she said,
“I have now seen the One who sees me.” Genesis 16:13
In that moment, she gave Him a name: El Roi - The God Who Sees Me.
Hagar, an Egyptian servant a woman, a slave, a single mom, a foreigner is the first person recorded in Scripture to give God a personal name. Her story foreshadows God’s heart for all to be welcomed and seen, a truth ultimately revealed through Jesus’ life and sacrifice.
There are seasons when we feel unseen, when our quiet efforts and tired prayers seem to go unnoticed. But even in those hidden places, God’s eyes are full of love and awareness. He sees the small acts of faith no one else does.
He sees every diaper changed, every prayer whispered, every time you choose patience when it’s hard. He sees your love, your weariness, and your longing to do well.
He sees you breaking patterns that once held generations captive. He sees the courage it takes to speak blessing instead of bitterness, to pray even when you’re learning how, to bring your children to His Word when you never had that yourself.
You may feel like you’re starting from scratch, but heaven sees a foundation being rebuilt one prayer, one bedtime story, one act of quiet obedience at a time.
Take heart the God who saw Hagar in the desert sees you shaping a new legacy. He delights in the faith you’re building for your children and the generations that will follow.
Love,
Gi 🤍

God Wink Moments
Have you ever had one of those God wink moments? When a simple thought crosses your mind, and moments later, it happens in a way that feels too perfect to be coincidence? Recently I was at a Japanese store with my husband and daughter…
The Tired Days
I never truly understood what people meant when they said, “The days are long, but the years are short,” until I became a mother. I remember the sweet baby smell, the tiny toes, the soft little clothes, and quiet afternoons when the biggest worry was a missed nap..
