God Wink Moments

Have you ever had one of those God wink moments? When a simple thought crosses your mind, and moments later, it happens in a way that feels too perfect to be coincidence?

Recently, I was at a Japanese store with my husband and daughter. My husband tried his luck at a claw machine and after several attempts, won a stuffed animal. We were grateful, though it wasn’t the one we had hoped for. Nearby, a little girl watched with wide eyes, clearly captivated. I asked my daughter if she wanted to give it to her, and she did. The girl’s smile was pure joy!

We had one coin left. My husband tried again… and this time, he won the exact one we wanted. It was such a small thing, but in that moment, we felt God’s nearness. It was as if He whispered, “I got you.”

Moments like that remind me how often God shows up in the details, if only we slow down enough to see Him.

Our days can feel like a whirlwind balancing work, family, parenting and everything in between. In the middle of the busyness, it’s easy to miss the quiet ways God whispers, those God wink moments, the little unexpected touches of His kindness that are sprinkled throughout our everyday lives.

When we pause, we begin to notice His presence everywhere:

in a child’s laughter,

a kind word from a stranger,

a hug that arrives just when we need it,

a sunrise painting the sky.

These are the gentle reminders that God is near, and that joy isn’t reserved for the big moments but found in the simple ones filled with His presence.

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:3

Children trust wholeheartedly, hope with open hearts and delight in all they see. They let go quickly. Their joy isn’t learned, it flows effortlessly from the purity of their hearts.

That’s the invitation for us too: to slow down, to see as they do, and to rediscover the joy that comes from knowing the Father is right here in every detail, every smile, every God wink.

Love,

Gi 🤍

Seen

For some of us, faith wasn’t something that was modeled or handed down, it’s something we’re learning to live and model as we go. Maybe you didn’t grow up praying at the dinner table or opening a Bible together. But now, here you are, choosing a new path for your family…

The Tired Days

I never truly understood what people meant when they said, “The days are long, but the years are short,” until I became a mother. I remember the sweet baby smell, the tiny toes, the soft little clothes, and quiet afternoons when the biggest worry was a missed nap..
